This is the online book store of Paul Stewart's Gillian Anderson and SF Website Bookstore Page, operating in association with Amazon.com Books.

I've chosen to link with Amazon.com because I believe they enjoys a well-earned reputation for honesty and good service that I can support. Under terms of my agreement with Amazon.com, I will objectively review selected books about Science Fiction, Fantasy, UFO's etc., dispensing both praise and criticism as I see fit. Hotlinks from each review will go directly to Amazon.com for handling.

Science Fiction Authors

I first discovered Iain Banks when I read "The Wasp Factory" and I have never been able to resist buying any of his other books since that time.

As well as his Non-SF Novels he writes Science Fiction as Iain M. Banks and produces a compelling vision of the future which is completely different from the somewhat right-wing vision often presented by other authors.

I think that what most impresses me about this author is his rich usage of language and the way that you gain sympathy and understanding for the people in the novels.

Although you can be shocked by what you are reading - you also come to understand and to feel sympathy for their feelings - something which happens even with Frank in "The Wasp Factory", despite his behaviour. A result of the Quality writing.

David Brin

Jonathan Carroll

These are a series of books which are weird. Good Weird. I first discovered him when I read "Sleeping in Flame" and have never looked back since.

Neal Stephenson. Also writes under the pseudonym Stephen Bury

In my opinion "Snow Crash" is the best Cyberpunk novel you will ever read. If you haven't got this already then 'Why Not?' This book describes the world of virtual reality in Cyberspace and Pizza Deliveries by the CosaNostra in the same breath. You will not regret reading this book.
